Transmission Revolution Sensors

Automatic Transmission Revolution Sensors, are devices that detect the rotation of a vehicle's transmission output shaft and send this information to the vehicle's Engine Control Module (ECM) to ensure accurate measurement of vehicle speed and proper shifting of gears in an automatic transmission system.

The automatic transmission revolution sensors measure the rotational speed of the transmission output shaft then sends this information to the ECM. The ECM then uses this information to determine the vehicle's speed and control the shifting of gears.

  • Senses revolution speed of input shaft or counter gear and detects shift timing

  • ECU compares the speed to appropriately control engine torque and hydraulic pressure to perform smooth gear shifting
